What is a Durga Puja without live “Dhak”? The rhythm is an integral part of the Puja experience.

Prabasi is thrilled to bring live authentic live ‘dhak’ in our Durga Puja this weekend. We hope you will join us.

Mr. Shymal Bhattacharya from Houston is bringing his professional Dhaki expertise to our Durga Puja both Saturday & Sunday. This is an experience that is not to be missed. Shyamal is an accomplished artist from Kolkata, now settled in Houston. He has performed with drums with many musicians and singers from the Indian subcontinent – most notably, Rabindra Jain, MD Rafi, Bhupen Hararika, Haimanti Shukla, Shakti Thakur, Arundhuti Chaudhry, Gautam Ghosh, Antora Chaudhury, Firoza Begum, Habihib Ali, and Salil Chowdhury. In addition, he was an organizer of the Houston Durga Bari musical functions and Dhak competitions.

Shyamal’s passion is in Radio Broadcsting and is the main Bengali & Hindi radio artist for Houston radio stations 1050AM, 1480AM and 1090AM stations.
