Saraswati Pujo 2024

As we usher in the new calendar year, Prabasi of New England is delighted to invite all members and patrons to join us for the auspicious celebration of Saraswati Pujo with our new pratima on February 17, 2024 at the Francis Wyman Elementary School, 41 Terrace Hall Ave, Burlington MA 01803.

Saraswati Pujo, also known as Vasant Panchami, is a festival dedicated to the Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and the arts. Every year we celebrate Saraswati puja with great fervor. Our devotees offer pushpanjali to the Goddess of learning. This celebration holds great cultural and spiritual significance for our community, and it is a time for us to come together, seek blessings, and embrace the joy of learning.

We enjoy Prasad and Bhoger Khichuri  followed by an array of cultural events. This is also the day many parents initiate education of their children, known as the ‘Haate Khori’ – the formal beginning of reading and writing in a child’s life. If you have a child ready to begin her/his academic journey and plan on getting that started at our pujo, please let us know. We will have the arrangements.

Admission to the event is complimentary for 2024 Prabasi members. Non-members are invited to attend by contributing a nominal fee of $30 per adult, $15 for seniors aged 65 and above, and $10 per child. This fee includes lunch and dinner at the venue.
